Frequently asked questions
How does OhMyProvence work?
OhMyProvence is a free search engine for accommodation in Provence. We search 100+ trusted booking sites at once and bring their available stays into one place: farmhouses (mas), B&Bs, boutique hotels, villas and gîtes. You search and compare here, then book directly on the partner site at their price. No account needed, no extra fees.
Why use OhMyProvence instead of Booking.com or Airbnb?
Generic platforms treat Provence as one destination among thousands. OhMyProvence is built around it. You can search by sub-region (the Luberon, the Alpilles, the Verdon, the Var coast), filter by what actually matters here (a mas with a pool, a hilltop village, lavender country), and compare results from 100+ booking sites in one search instead of checking them one by one.
Will I pay more if I book through OhMyProvence?
No. OhMyProvence is free to use, and when you find a stay you like, you book on the partner site at its standard price. We add nothing on top. Our job is simply to help you find the right place in Provence.
Can I search by sub-region, not just "Provence"?
Yes. A gîte in the Luberon and a hotel on the Côte d'Azur are completely different trips, so everything on OhMyProvence is organised by sub-region. You can search exactly where you want to be: a village in the Alpilles, the Verdon and its lake, the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, lavender country around Valensole.
How do cancellations and refunds work?
Your booking is made with the partner site, so its cancellation policy applies. Each listing shows that policy before you commit, and policies vary from one property to another, so it's worth checking before you book, especially in high season.
Will I only see gîtes and rural stays, or hotels too?
Everything. Hotels, B&Bs, campsites, villas, farmhouses and gîtes all show up in the same search. Whether you want a stone farmhouse near the lavender fields, a hotel in Gordes or a villa on the Var coast, you compare them side by side.
Can I find stays for groups or families?
Yes. Many of the farmhouses, villas and gîtes on OhMyProvence suit groups and families well, with several bedrooms, private outdoor space and self-catering kitchens. Check the listing for capacity and layout before you book.
When is the best time to visit Provence?
It depends on the Provence you're after. Lavender blooms from mid-June to mid-July around Valensole and Sault. July and August are peak season on the coast, lively but busy and at their most expensive. May, June and September offer the best balance of warm weather, open restaurants and quieter villages, and autumn is ideal for wine country and hiking.
